The next OWLS program will be on Thursday, May 25th. This years theme is "Iowa, Then and Now", and May's destination will be a trip to Dubuque to visit the Mathias Ham House Historic Site.

About the Event

The next Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls program will be on Thursday, May 25th. This year’s theme is “Iowa, Then and Now”, and May’s destination will be a trip to Dubuque to visit the Mathias Ham House Historic Site. Participants should meet at Osborne Park to leave at 11:00 AM and carpool to the destination.

O.W.L.S. will explore Dubuque’s rich history at this unique historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Costumed interpreters will give a tour of the site which includes Mathias Ham House, Iowa’s oldest log cabin, a one-room schoolhouse and a replica lead mine and miner’s dwelling.

Reservations are required. Reserve your spot today by calling (563) 245-1516 or visit the Osborne Nature Center. Osborne Nature Center is located on HWY 13 five miles south of Elkader. The center is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday-Saturday & Noon – 4:00 PM Sunday.
